Join Grunio the guinea pig and start playing now. Help him eat all the carrots in this retro mini-game for the Commodore 64!

Gruniozerca C64 is the Commodore 64 version of a NES/Famicom mini-game that debuted in 2016. Both versions were made to support Gramytatywnie, a 24-hour Polish charity livestream.

Plug your joystick into port 2 to move Grunio left and right. Try to catch every carrot before it hits the ground. To collect a carrot, make sure Grunio matches the falling carrot’s color when you catch it. Press the fire button to cycle through Grunio’s colors and match the carrot as needed.

How to run?

This game works best on original Commodore 64 or Commodore 128 computers. It can be used with both PAL and NTSC video systems, but was primarily designed for PAL.

After downloading the disk image, you can copy it to a 5.25-inch floppy disk with a transfer cable. You can also use devices like SD2IEC or Pi1541 that emulate disk drives.

Don’t have a real Commodore 64? No problem! Play the game using the disk image on The C64 or The C64 Mini. You can also use any C64 emulator that supports disk images. I recommend Denise, but VICE and others work too. Emulators are available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

To start the game on your Commodore 64, type LOAD "*",8 and press Return. When you see READY., type RUN and press Return to play.

To play on a Commodore 128, type GO64 and press Return to switch to Commodore 64 mode. Then, follow the same steps as above.
